Most drawing problems are not caused by a lack of patience or talent. They usually come from a gaps in seeing: judging values, measuring proportion, understanding form or recognising distortion in reference.The Drawing Labs are designed to make those hidden skills visible and prectiseable.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to be an Academy member to use the Labs?
No – the Labs are available separately from the Academy.
You can start with the free previews, unlock individual Labs, or get the All Labs Bundle. If you join the Academy, all current Labs are included with your membership.
Can I buy just one Lab?
Yes. Each Lab can be unlocked individually, so you can start with the tool that is most useful to you.
If you want access to everything, the All Labs Bundle or Academy membership may be better value.
Can I use the Labs on mobile?
The Labs are currently best used on a tablet, laptop or desktop screen.
Because they include a lot of visual information, controls and drawing/reference areas, they are not currently designed for smaller mobile screens. Mobile-friendly versions may be developed in the future, but for now you’ll get the best experience on a larger screen.
Will new Labs be added?
Yes. The Labs are an evolving part of the Academy and will continue to grow over time.
New features, improvements and additional Labs are planned, so the tools will keep developing alongside the lessons and student needs.
What’s the difference between the Labs and the Academy?
The Labs are interactive practice tools. They help you train specific skills such as value, measurement, colour, light, form, lens distortion and perspective.
The Academy is the full learning pathway. It includes structured lessons, draw-alongs, forums, feedback and guidance, with all current Labs included as part of the membership.
In simple terms: the Labs help you practise; the Academy shows you what to practise, why it matters, and how to improve.
